A late afternoon hike. Welcomed with open, uh, claws, by a crawfish, and greeted by a grinning Water Snake.
Night falls and we go cruising.
A nice surprise, a species we hadn’t seen for a long time. Mud Snakes are always a special treat, and always a
challenge to photograph. Part of their defensive response is to keep twisting themselves into weird positions, poking
with their sharp-pointed tail, and constantly trying to hide their head. We finally say to hell with it and just take
pictures as is.
Another Mud, only this time, a turtle.
Ron and my daughter Shoshi taking photographs of a Ribbon Snake.
Don’t get quite as close taking pictures of this one.
On the other hand, hands-on with this one.
We finish up with one of the prettiest Pygmies I’ve ever seen in the Glades.
